The Los Angeles Rams are set to move on from one of the major offensive players during the 2025 NFL offseason. They told wide receiver Coopercup, who is scheduled to trade with the team in eight years.

Stafford is out of a strong season. He led the Rams to a 10-6 record and an NFL divisional round look after completing 65.8% of passes for 3,762 yards, 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions. The Rams grant Stafford’s agents permission to talk to other teams about their values

Both Pelissero and Rapoport report that the team gave Stafford’s agents permission to speak to other teams to determine his market value. This will allow other teams to let Stafford agents know how much they’ll pay if they buy the 37-year-old quarterback through trade. Both Pelissero and Rapoport note that this is not a trade request. Because the Rams ultimately prefer Stafford to return to the team in 2025.
Rams seeking first round picks in potential deals

Schultz pointed this out in his weekly NFL secret queue, based on his hearing impairment throughout the league. Schultz said several teams called the Rams about Stafford’s potential trade, saying “The belief is likely to be the first round pick to the asking price.”
All 32 teams earned their first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft at the time of publication. The Rams currently hold the overall pick, 26th in the first round, but have no second choice.

Schefter said in his own podcast that Rams’ No. 1 option remains to get Stafford back in his fifth season.
“They’ve been trying to see if they could resolve the new contract,” Shefater explained. “If possible, Matthew Stafford will remain in Los Angeles and he will remain Rum.”
Shefater also believes Stafford is interested in returning to the Rams. However, Stafford owes $35 million in 2025, which is subject to two parties agreeing to the new agreement.
If these negotiations stall, Shefater believes the Rams can explore the capital’s draft trading Stafford, while chasing Aaron Rodgers as a halt for the Ministry of Freedom.
“If the Rams can’t make a deal with Stafford, if they decide to trade him, then there will be a lot of “ifs” involved – in my mind, Aaron Rodgers has come to Los Angeles You’ll be excited by the idea of going. The Rams could have got him at a lower cost than Matthew Stafford. ”

Shifters were asked if the Giants would consider trading Stafford if Stafford became available. ESPN analysts believed the team would pursue him as an upgrade, but he believed he would not sacrifice a third-place pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Schefter appeared in “Talkin’ Ball with Pat Leonard” shortly after Super Bowl 59, discussing Stafford’s future with the Rams. ESPN analysts did not guarantee that Stafford would return to Los Angeles.
“I think they’re committed to trying to solve something, but that doesn’t mean they’re actually going to solve something,” Shifter said.
Shefater showed that on the part of the Rams there was a positive attitude that both parties could resolve something. He also acknowledged that the answer to this question is likely to come before the free agency.
“I think we have the answer faster than slowing it down because the Rams have to be clear,” Shefater said.
Kelly Stafford discusses her husband’s future, Cooper Kupp deals on her podcast
Rumors surrounding Stafford began to swirl in earnest when Kelly Stafford spoke to the Rams about her husband’s future on the February 6 episode of the “The Morning After” podcast.
“To be honest, I wasn’t going to discuss this, but hell, why is that?” she said. “My husband wants to win. He’s not trying to put his team in a bad situation. If you’re catching my drift, you’re catching my drift.”
The podcast aired days after the team announced that Rams wide receiver Cooper Cup had notified them that it would be traded during the 2025 NFL offseason. Stafford admitted she was “confusing” with the Rams’ strategy in the move.
“I’m going to say I’m going to say a Cooper deal? …We were one play away from going to the NFC Championship, so it’s confusing,” Stafford explained. “And if we go, I think we’ll win.”
Stafford also revealed that she was not talking directly for her husband. She was simply trying to protect him and achieve his ultimate goal of competing for another championship.
“I have to be a dog in this situation,” Stafford said. “I want him to respect him as a deserving one. I’m told I love the city of LA and I love adventure.”
