Tiktok announced Tuesday that it is officially launching Tiktok for Artists, a new music insights platform designed to help artists build their careers. The official launch will take place two months after Tiktok is discovered testing the platform in a particular country.
The tool is built to help artists and their teams improve their connections with fans, improve promotional efforts, and notify Tiktok of content creation. The platform will allow artists, their labels and teams to access data about the artist’s music and posts and Tiktok’s performance.
These metrics include the number of views, posts, and author engagements per song, along with similar insights into post performance. Other insights include information about the artist’s followers, such as age, language, and gender.
Tiktok for Artists also includes a step-by-step guide to Tiktok’s tools and features, as well as additional support and resources, the company says.

Additionally, Tiktok has announced that it will launch a new “pre-release” tool that will allow artists to promote upcoming album releases on Tiktok. This feature allows fans to actually pre-save the album to Spotify or Apple Music Library, allowing them to listen to it upon release.
Tiktok plays a major role in music trends and driving viral songs, so it makes sense for artists to introduce dedicated spaces to promote content and encourage fan engagement. Tiktok for artists can help artists expand their reach and grow their audience.
It is worth noting that the launch of Tiktok for artists will come eight months after the ordinance decided to close Tiktok Music, a music-riding service that had been tested in a few countries. At the time, the company said, “we decided to focus on focusing on the goal of promoting the role of Tiktok in promoting even greater musical listening and value for music streaming services.”
Events over the past year have shown that Tiktok is not trying to compete with services like Spotify and Apple Music, focusing instead on being a platform for music discovery and promotion.
Tiktok for Artist is currently available in Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Canada, Morocco and Canada. The platform will soon be rolled out in other countries, Tiktok says.
