The bear market is one of the best opportunities to invest in crypto, and there is one important caveat. You need to choose your investment very carefully. The bear market tends to separate crypto candidates from pretenders. Many cryptocurrencies never recover from the initial recession.
I have chosen cryptocurrency investments, especially in times of economic uncertainty. Still, there are some well-equipped coins that are suitable to survive the bear market and provide long-term returns.
Where would you invest $1,000 now? Our team of analysts has revealed what we believe is the 10 best stocks to buy now. Continues “
Monero (Cryptography: XMR) It is the largest privacy coin and means cryptocurrency that privatizes transactions. Most cryptocurrencies record transactions on public blockchains that anyone can access. Monero transactions are anonymous and cannot be tracked. If there is a reliable tracing method, it is not general knowledge.
There are several reasons why Monero likes it as an investment. It is one of the few cryptocurrencies that have proven its lasting power through multiple bear markets. Monero was launched in 2014 and has since been one of the top 25 to 50 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.
Monero has been one of the more performant cryptocurrencies in recent years. This is a 21% increase so far in 2025 and a 90% increase last year, significantly outpacing Bitcoin (Cryptography: BTC) And the S&P 500 over those periods.
Monero price data from YCHARTS.
Lastly, Monero has a unique and easy-to-understand use case. Many cryptocurrency projects employ so many technical jargon that it feels like they’re reading another language. The value of Monero is easily clear. It will keep your transactions and your holdings private. This is the advantage that some crypto users expect to see all the time.
I understand that Bitcoin is not the most exciting recommendation. It is the most famous cryptocurrency, the oldest and largest with the largest margin. So that’s what I trust most. Cryptocurrency is not completely safe, but Bitcoin is the safest option.
The value of Bitcoin comes from its built-in rarity. The largest supply is 21 million bitcoins and once they are all mined there is no way to make them more. Due to the scarcity of Bitcoin, proponents view it as a hedge against inflation and economic uncertainty, and it is undoubtedly the best encrypted on the bear market.
Some major recent developments could lead to more investments in Bitcoin. Last year, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved the first Bitcoin ETF to attract more institutional investors. Professional investors over $100 million held $27.4 billion worth of Bitcoin ETFs as of the fourth quarter of 2024.
The story continues
Additionally, the Trump administration announced in March that it would be the creation of a strategic Bitcoin Reserve. Not only will the federal government stockpile Bitcoin, but several states have announced plans to do the same.
Bitcoin has grown by 1% so far, but it looks better considering the S&P 500 is down 7%. Last year, its value increased by 41%. Bitcoin has traditionally gone through a long bull and bear cycle, so investing in it can be a wild ride. However, you wouldn’t be surprised to see that Bitcoin’s rarity and increased adoption will fall below $150,000 within next year or two.
A market slump could be a good time to invest in beaten crypto trading at discounted prices. Enter Solana (Cryptography: Sol)the top 10 cryptocurrencies currently falling 21%.
Solana is the smart contract blockchain that first appeared as a competitor for Ethereum (Encryption: ETH) When I returned to 10,000% or more in 2021. What makes it special is speed and efficiency. Thanks to the historical proof model, Solana reportedly can process over 4,000 transactions (TPS) per second, and up to 65,000. The latest average trading fee is $0.004. According to Token Terminal, the average layer 1 blockchain network is around $3.
The fact that using Solana is extremely inexpensive has helped grow your user base. Ethereum remains the largest smart contract blockchain, locking up to nearly $50 billion in total value (TVL), while Solana is second at $7.7 billion. Solana was also the top blockchain for new developers in 2024, when 7,625 new developers looked into their ecosystems.
Solana is a risky choice, but it can bring greater returns than conservative crypto investments. The first few months of 2025 were not great for Solana investors, but there are positive signs in the future. President Donald Trump has announced that Solana is part of the US strategic Bitcoin reserve and that the SEC will review applications for the Solana ETF. If they are approved, it could lead to more institutional investments in Solana.
These three cryptocurrencies should be able to achieve that through the bear market. And they all have unique selling points that give them a competitive advantage over other cryptocurrencies. Monero is the most reliable privacy coin, Bitcoin has a low supply, has the advantage of the first mover, and Solana’s efficiency is second to none. I have all three in my wallet and the crypto market is unpredictable, but I hope they will become long-term winners.
