Solana saw trading volumes of over $6.2 billion in the 24 hours, which closes at around noon on February 18th. That volume isn’t too surprising given that it’s a chain of choice for unlucky investors to gamble at Meme Coins. But it is also one of the major chains of AI (AI) infrastructure projects on the blockchain, and a relatively new segment of the cryptocurrency sector.
Such infrastructure projects aim to create an automation-friendly interface that allows AI agents to retain capital, trade and potentially fire their own coins. The catch is that at least there is still no such AI agent in fact with enough proven use cases to drive investors to buy Solana itself.
Nonetheless, there are AI agents that have recently been released without proven use cases. So there are AI agents who are essentially meme coins. And it’s an emerging segment that could drive a big return for Solana investors, even if it’s a rather flirty effort.

Other AI agents or AI infrastructure projects may choose similar policies to ensure that the chain directly benefits users, but it is still too early to expect that. AI Agent Meme Coin is a positive development in the Solana Ecosystem, supporting part of the investment paper that the coin will become AI homes on the blockchain. If AI agents with no purpose defined except for entertaining humans continue to grow into a full-fledged category within cryptocurrency, it now appears that Solana is the home of most of its activities.
