
Bobby Miller hopes to win a spot this spring in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ starting rotation, but that quest may be delayed in the near future.
Miller was on the mound for the defending champion on Thursday, but his appearance was shortened after a line drive slammed him into the head during his first spring training game.

Manager Dave Roberts and the medical staff rushed to check on Miller before the pitcher could get up and leave the field on their own.
He didn’t go back to the game.

Miller sent a post on his official X account Thursday night.
“Thank you to everyone who reached out to me,” Miller wrote. “It really makes sense. I’m fine in a scary moment! I praise the man above. I can’t wait to get back to the mound.”
Roberts provided several updates on Miller’s status on Friday.
“I’m sure he’ll get a throwing program right away, but we need to continue with the concussion protocol and make sure he’s on the right track,” Roberts said.
Roberts also said Miller was asleep overnight but was still dealing with the headache.
The manager provided some positive news and said Miller had no fractures or serious bruises.
