Remember when Cryptopunks was the ultimate flex?
The 10,000 avatars issued by Larva Labs in 2017 were one of the trendy crown gems of mysterious tokens (NFTs) in 2021. Some NFTs in that collection became $56 million worth of ether (ETH) in the open market in 2024.
The top five most expensive NFTSs shown by NFT Analytics Service Cryptoslam belong to the Cryptopunk collection. However, the owner seems to be moving the money.
The wallet behind Cryptopunkks #3100, the third-highest NFT sale to date, sold a collectable sale at 4,000 ETH later on Friday.
This is a relatively high price for Cryptopunk compared to 42 ETH per Coingecko, or the floor price for a collection of around $65,000, or the lowest rate you ask. The value of #3100 was “Alien” (9985 punks in 9) and was driven by the rarity of wearing a hair band (406 punks in 9742 punks).
NFT trading volume has generally declined since 2021, banning several spikes amid the frenzy. On April 7th, total sales amounted to just over $58 million, reaching levels previously seen in early 2021.
