Free agency begins on March 10th, starting with negotiation period between the team and the free agent player. This is an annual way for teams to strengthen their roster ahead of the NFL Draft by signing players from other teams.
These signatures can be a huge boost for your team. Look no further than the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. The team signed to run through Saquon Berkley and linebacker Zack Burn in free agency last offseason, both of which had career seasons, especially Berkley.
However, free agents are not always rosy. Last offseason, the Atlanta Falcons gave quarterback Kirk Cousins the biggest contract in free agency, and the team turned to rookie Michael Penix Jr. before the end of the season.
This year, there are a lot of talented players who will hit free agency on either side of the ball. In particular, there are players in famous positions on attacks where the best pay in this free agency cycle should be commanded.
Here’s how we ranked the top 25 free agents in the 2025 attack:

2025 NFL Free Agency: Top 15 Offensive Players
1. WR Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals
This is very easy. Higgins will be number one wideout on most NFL teams, but he led the NFL at reception, featuring wide receiver Ja’marr Chase who received a yard (1,708) and a touchdown (17). I’ll play as a team.
Higgins turns 26 in the 2025 NFL season and is away from his career-high 10 touchdown season in 2024. Frequently.
Cincinnati can use his franchise tag to keep him away from the open market.
2. QB Sam Darnold, Minnesota Viking
Darnold’s journey from the third overall pick in 2018 to 2024 Pro Bowl quarterback appears long, but he will be just 28 years old in the 2025 NFL season. That’s when most quarterbacks enter Prime.
His career year with the Vikings in 2024 was a playoff thrill with his rough performance against the Los Angeles Rams. He could still order a top 10 salary, given his first year at quarterback in the draft and many quarterback Needy teams.
3. OG Tray Smith, Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs’ offensive line, including Smith, struggled overall in the Super Bowl. But the right guard was one of the Chiefs’ best offensive linemen in the regular season. At the time of publication, Kansas City spent about $65 million in 2025 working on Center Creed Humphrey, Guard Joe Sunny and Jawan Taylor. They can’t afford to get Smith back.
Smith is an offensive blocker for the running game and is only 26 years old. He only missed one game in four years as a starter for Kansas City. Free agent guards Robert Hunt, Damien Lewis and Jonah Jackson received big payments in 2024, and Smith managed to get nearly record money for the security guards.
4. OT Ronnie Stanley, Baltimore Ravens
Stanley’s career was marked by injuries that entered 2024. The Ravens’ first round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft has missed a fair amount of time in the past four seasons.
Stanley then had one of his best seasons in 2024, playing all the games for the Ravens in preparation for his second Pro Bowl appearance. He turns 31 just before free agency begins, but tackle plays regularly in the NFL in his mid-30s.
Teams looking for tackle help should weigh the history of his injuries against his recent production.
5. WR Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Godwin was paced before his horrible season-ending ankle injury in Week 7, heading for his 2024 revival season. It was the first time he hadn’t been able to play at least 12 games in his career season.
Godwin will turn 29 in the 2025 season and will likely have at least some solid seasons more than he. He is a proven player in the slots and could be a good second option in the passing game for teams around the league.
6. C Drew Dalman, Atlanta Falcons
Dalman dealt with injuries in 2024 and played just nine games, but spent a career season. He will turn 27 during the 2025 season, posting a career-high blown block rate of just 1.3% per SAS Information Solutions (SIS) data.
Dalman is by far the top center in the market. He is a top run blocker thriving in the zone scheme and can bring stability to a team with a young quarterback looking for a long-term answer in that position.
7. OT Alaric Jackson, Los Angeles Rams
Jackson had a career in 2024 protecting Matthew Stafford’s blind side. Not bad for undrafted free agents. That year he was given an age (27 for the 2025 season) and allowed him to win the top deal, taking into account his 6-foot-7 and 345 pound outlier size.
8. OG Willfly, Indianapolis Colts
Fry suffered a season-ending broken tibia in Week 6, but before that injury he was playing at a career-high level. He will turn 27 next season and play in multiple spots along the offensive line before settling on security. His game wasn’t based on athletic ability, so injuries wouldn’t make the team too embarrassed.
9. OT Cam Robinson, Minnesota Viking
Robinson went from Jacksonville to the Minnesota mid season and was a solid starter with a left tackle. He will turn 30 during the season and probably won’t be leading anything big, but he will need to gain interest from multiple teams.
10. OGMekhiBecton, Philadelphia Eagles
Becton spent a revived season moving inside to guard with the Eagles in 2024. He improved his passing protection to complement his skills as a run blocker. At 26 next season, he is highly sought after among offensive linemen in the interior.
11. WR Amari Cooper, Buffalo Bills
Cooper was traded for the Bills and midseason for the Cleveland Browns, but finished in 2024 with a career low with yards (547) and received touchdowns (4) and yards (39.1) per game. He turns 31 before the season, so he’s far from the top threat in the passing game, but he can strengthen his position as he did in 2024.
12. C Josh Myers, Green Bay Packers
Myers had an outstanding season in 2024, with one retention penalty and zero sack allowed at a low career 1.8% block percentage per Sisdata. He is a better run blocker than a pass blocker at this stage, but he will be 27 years old since the 2025 season. Like Dalman, Myers needs to pay attention to teams that need center.
13. WR Steffon Diggs, Houston Texans
Diggs tore the ACL against Indianapolis Colts in week 8. Even before that, he had paced since 2018 at the lowest yard average per game. Diggs will be 32 next season and will be watching the Down Market considering his age and concerns about his injury.
14. QB Justin Fields, Pittsburgh Steelers
Fields worked well as a Steelers starter in 2024, and was taken over by fellow free agent Russell Wilson. He will be 26 years old by the start of the next season and has an impressive skill set as a runner. After previous first-round quarterbacks Darnold and Baker Mayfield turned their careers around in their late 20s, the team was able to see the field in a similar way.
15. OGTEVENJENKINS, Chicago Bears
Jenkins was initially drafted as a tackle, but moved to guard and was a solid starter for the Bears. He was ranked 13th in the 2024 season among all the security guards in the NFL by Pro Football Focus. If next season begins more years than he will be, he will be only 27 years old.
