To make AI DJs feel more interactive, Spotify has updated its functionality to allow users to request music and change the mood of their playlists using voice commands. The company deploys this feature, supported only in English and in more than 60 markets of premium subscribers.
Until now, you have been able to listen to AI DJ play songs. In the meantime, there were some explanations. The company is currently adding an interactive element to this feature.
Users can now instruct AI DJs to change mood or genre, or to play tracks from specific artists.
Users can search for AI DJs in the search bar, hold the DJ button in the bottom right to make requests via voice commands. If you want to change the feel of your playlist without making a specific request, you can quickly press the DJ button.
Spotify first launched its AI DJ feature in the US and Canada in February 2023. The company later deployed it globally in August 2023. Last year, the music streaming company added support for Spanish-speaking AI DJs.
The company’s other large AI features allow users to create playlists using text prompts.
