There are dozens of market experts who predict prices on a daily basis in the crypto market, but it is very rare that price predictions are found to be accurate.
However, it turns out to be correct as one Reddit user had a Bitcoin price forecast in 2014.
A user going with username Oldie101 posted to MarkmyWords Sub on April 18, 2014.
The day users wrote the original post, Bitcoin was just under $500.
At the time, the post elicited awful comment, “Continue to dream.”
However, the Post began to attract attention as Kingcoin prices surpassed the $100,000 mark on May 8th. Users began posting congratulatory messages and asking if the user had become rich.
However, the original poster told everyone that he “unfortunately” hadn’t “Hodl” BTC. Hodl, or “Hold On for Dear Life,” is a popular term in the crypto community, referring to the practice of holding crypto assets in the bear market as well.
Users said they have been buying and selling cryptocurrencies for many years.
“I’ve been saying that for the past 11 years. But life is pretty good without Bitcoin, so I can’t complain,” he added.
Please note that on December 4th, 2024, Bitcoin first hit the $100,000 mark. This comes a month after Donald Trump won the 2024 presidential election on November 5th, 2024.
Cryptocurrency hit a record high of $108,786 on January 20th.
According to Kraken’s price feed, Bitcoin had exchanged hands for $103,313 at press.
