The NASCAR Cup Series will open the 2025 season with Cookout Crash at Bowmang Ray Stadium, an exhibition race that introduces the largest sports stars.
The collision will be a historic race venue in Winston Sailem, North Carolina, after spending the last three years at the Los Angeles Commemorative Coliseum, another symbolic stadium.
Bowmang Ray Stadium, known as the “Mad House” with affection, was built in 1937 to hold soccer games and continued to be a Winston Sailem State University’s house. In addition, horse racing was held around the boundary of the field and eventually welcomed a race event approved by NASCAR in 1949. The NASCAR Cup Series Race was held in Bowman Gray from 1958 to 1971, and the premiere series has left, but the famous quarter -miltracks will continue. Weekly, sportsman and stock car racing will be held every week.
More than 50 years later, the cup car returns to Bowman Gray when NASCAR returns to its roots. The collision is not a point race, it does not affect the seasonal ranking or playoffs, but the driver provides the opportunity to return to a competitive form two weeks before Nascar’s largest race, Daytona 500.
