Openai has begun rolling out its latest AI model, GPT-4.5, to users of ChatGPT Plus Tier.
In a series of posts on X, Openai said the rollout would take “1-3 days” and the rate limits would be expected to change. GPT-4.5 was first launched last week for subscribers to Openai’s $200 ChatGpt Pro plan.
“We want to provide substantial fee limits for everyone who has access to GPT-4.5, but we expect the fee limits to change as we learn more about demand,” the company wrote in its post.
GPT-4.5 is OpenAI’s biggest AI model, trained using more computing power and data than the company’s previous releases. But that’s not necessarily Openai’s best. In some AI benchmarks, GPT-4.5 has not reached the new AI “inference” model of Chinese AI companies Deepseek, humanity, and Openai itself.
The GPT-4.5 is also very expensive to run, Openai is so expensive that the company says it is assessing whether to continue with GPT-4.5 with its API over the long term. To cover the costs, the company charges $75 (approximately 750,000 words) per million supplied to the model and $150 per million generated by the model.
That being said, the increase in size of GPT-4.5 has made both “deep world knowledge” and “higher emotional intelligence.” GPT-4.5 hallucinates most models less frequently than most models, according to Openai. In theory, it should be less likely to constitute things.
GPT-4.5 is also a skilled rhetoricist. One of Openai’s internal benchmarks has found that the model is particularly good at convincing another AI to give cash to another AI and convey a secret codeword.
