Openai has effectively cancelled the release of O3, which was expected to become the company’s next major AI model, in favor of offering a “simplified” product. In a post on X, CEO Sam Altman said Openai is planning to release GPT-5. GPT-5 is a model that integrates O3 into CHATGPT and its API. As a result, Openai will no longer start O3 as a Stand-Alone model. According to Altman, the company plans to release GPT-4.5 before it is deployed.
Apple and Google have restored Tiktok to their respective app stores in the US. This is almost a month after the app was removed due to a banned national security law. The company has also restored video editor Capcut and social media app Lemon8. This has been removed to comply with the law. According to Bloomberg, the app was restored after U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondy sent Apple a letter saying the ban would not be enforced.
Apple CEO Tim Cook is scheduled to arrive Wednesday after teasing “the latest member of the family.” It’s been three years since Apple released its last iPhone SE for $429. This is monitoring products that play a huge role in markets such as China and India. This time, Apple may discard the Touch ID Home button and use the same chip that runs the iPhone 16.
