Nvidia clearly does not agree to humanity’s support for export controls for US-made AI chips.
On Wednesday, humanity doubled its support for the US Department of Commerce’s “Artificial Intelligence Spreading Framework.”
The next day, Nvidia responded with a very different view on future controls.
“American companies should focus on innovation and challenges. An NVIDIA spokesman told CNBC, telling CNBC that large, heavy, sensitive electronics are somehow smuggled in “baby bumps” or “with live lobsters.”
Export restrictions will hurt Nvidia’s global revenue stream. Nvidia recently said that new licensing requirements for H20 AI chips to be sold in China could cost the company $5.5 billion in the first quarter of 2026.
TechCrunch contacted Nvidia for comment.
