According to the new job list, Microsoft appears to be working on the 3D gaming experience for Copilot, an AI-powered chatbot platform.
Released this week, the list calls for a Beijing-based senior software engineer specializing in 3D rendering engines, particularly the engine that is normally used to build web browser-based video games (Babylon.JS, 3.JS, and Unity).
“Are you passionate about gaming and interested in building innovative solutions for billions of users?” job descriptions are read. “If you have a background in the game and a strong passion for it, this is a great opportunity for you!”
Microsoft has previously indicated that it plans to make the game a major part of Copilot Experience.
In February, Microsoft demoed the AI model Muse, saying the company would soon power a short interactive game with Copilot. Muse is trained in the multiplayer battle arena game bleeding edge of game developer Ninja Theory. It allows you to understand the world of 3D games, including game physics and how the game responds to the player’s controller actions, allowing models to create gameplay rendered by AI.
In another announcement last May, Microsoft said it was working to embed Copilot, which begins with Minecraft, into video games. The company has shown Copilot responding to questions such as “How can I create a sword?” In the game, search the player’s inventory for the required material, and tells the player how to retrieve components that are missing keys.
In another bid to boost engagement, Microsoft reportedly is experimenting with the “character-based” co-pilot functionality. In January, reverse engineer Alexey Shabanov discovered two animated characters in Copilot, designed to interact with users via sound effects and animation.
