Mel Gibson says President Donald Trump’s visit to Los Angeles amid wildfire relief efforts was “Daddy’s arrived.”
The “Daddy’s Home 2” star made the comments during a Friday interview with host Sean Hannity on Fox News.
“I’m glad Trump is here right now,” Gibson continued. “It’s like daddy arrives and he takes off his belt, right? So I think he’s going to get some results here.”
Trump was welcomed by California Governor Gavin Newsom on Friday for a tour of the devastation left in the wake of wildfires that have destroyed parts of the Southern California region. In recent weeks, Trump has criticized Newsom. He commonly refers to it as “news scum.”

Gibson’s “daddy” comment came after Hannity asked him, “How bad is that?”
After Hannity claimed that it must be “frustrating” for Californians, Gibson responded that his neighbors are “a good bunch.”
Gibson added, “You meet people who are homeless all the time. And you talk to each other and fall down and everyone puts on a brave face. They’re a good bunch here.”
Donald Trump previously named Mel Gibson ‘special ambassador’ to Hollywood
On January 16, Trump took to the social platform Truth Social to name Gibson a “special ambassador” to Hollywood, along with fellow right-wing actors Jon Voight and Sylvester Stallone.
“It is my honor to announce that Jon Voight, Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone will be special ambassadors to this wonderful but very troubled part of Hollywood, California,” Trump said. I wrote it on Thursday. “They will serve as special envoys for me in an effort to bring Hollywood, which has lost so much business abroad over the past four years.

In a statement to USA Today, Gibson said, “I was as surprised as you were to receive the tweet at the same time as all of you. Still, I listened to the call. My duty as a citizen is that I What you can do and provide insight.
“Is it possible that this position comes with ambassadorial housing?” Gibson continued jokingly.
