There are no new episodes of Saturday Night Live this Saturday night, but there is a special re-run that can be seen ahead of Sunday’s 50th anniversary special for the long-standing comedy show.
On February 15th, NBC will rebroadcast its first “SNL” from October 11th, 1975.
Comedian George Carlin, who passed away in 2008, hosted an episode from 50 years ago. American singers and songwriters Billy Preston and Janice Ian have teamed up in advance as music guests. The show also featured a sketch of comedian Andy Kaufman and Muppet creator Jim Henson.
Prior to that, NBC will be airing the documentary “Ladies & Gentlemen…50 Years of SNL Music.”
