Databricks snatched another AI company.
This week, Data Analytics Giant announced the $1 billion acquisition of Neon, which will build a startup that will build an open source alternative to AWS Aurora Postgres. As Databricks positions it as a place to build, deploy and extend AI-Native applications, it is the latest in high-profile purchases to join MosaicML and Tabular.
Today, TechCrunch’s equity podcast features Kirsten Korosec, Max Zeff and Anthony HA hosting Databricks-Neon deals. Neon serverless Postgres Tech fits into a bigger vision, with $1 billion still counting as “more money” (spoiler: Kirsten and Anthony are in Feence).
