Think of it as there are no difficult feelings between new teammates Dewanna Bonner and Caitlyn Clark.
Bonner signed a one-year contract with Indiana Fever this offseason and was officially featured by the team on Monday. And of course, the six-time WNBA All-Star was asked about the small incident with Feverstar during the 2024 WNBA Playoffs.
In Game 2 of the first round series between Fever and Connecticut Sun, Clark complained to the referee after feeling that he had been fouled by Bonner. The 15-year veteran wasn’t grateful for that, and Bonner had some words to Clark before the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year shoved Bonner with one hand. Bonner responded by swiping Clark’s arm.
After a timeout, Bonner and Clark continued to chirp each other, and staff eventually separated them to prevent escalation.
When asked about Monday’s incident and whether it had influenced her decision to sign with Indiana, Bonner couldn’t help but laugh.
“My inbox is so crazy about the moment, so I’m happy you’re asking that question,” Bonner said. It was a playoff, so the emotions were high and the tension was high. ”

It was a pretty offseason for Indiana. This brought Sophie Cunningham and Natasha Howard to the team looking to take the next step in the WNBA hierarchy. Bonner, a two-time Phoenix Mercury WNBA champion and twice named all WNBA teams, said he couldn’t be more excited about playing with Clark.
The two are already training together.
“I think we’ve eaten well for each other. I hope that I’ll be here and give my leadership advice,” Bonner said. “I don’t think she needs to push her to become the type of player she isn’t yet. I’m happy to be here. Level.”
Clark also praised the moves the team has made, noting that Bonner is adding much needed championship experience.
“I think that’s exactly what we need in the locker room. But not only are they really good basketball players, they’re great leaders and great people, and the front office puts that into priority. I know that it’s,” she said.
