What I learned from today’s puzzles
Tomato (6d: Red Fruit of Salciad) Salciad is a Filipino dish that features a sauce (salsa) made with tomatoes and eggs. The salsa is served with fried milk fish. PAM (22D: Illustrator Wishbow) Pam Wishbow is an illustrator and printmaker who lives in “Gloomy Seattle” with her partner and cat, according to her website. I really enjoyed watching Pam Wishbow’s work on her website.
Random thoughts and interesting things
Oboe (15A: woodwind instrument “Dacacia”) Oboe de Kaccia – meaning “hunting oboe” in Italian – is a woodwind instrument of the Oboe family. The oboe de Caccia is a double reed instrument with curved tubes ending with large bells made of wood or brass. The studio took its name from the Italian word Ghibli. It is based on the Libyan Arabic word for hot desert winds. Studio Ghibli’s films include Spirited Away (2001), Howl’s Moving Castle (2004), Ponyo (2008), and The Boy and the Heron (2023).ahab (26a: “Moby-dick” Whaler) Herman Melville’s epic The novel, Moby-Dick; Or Whale was first published in 1851. The book talks about Captain Ahab’s quest to win a revenge against the classic whale to bite the leg in the previous Voyage.Tosca (28a: title role in Puccini Opera) Giacomo Puccini’s opera. Tosca premiered in Rome in 1900. The title character Tosca is the only female character in opera. Set in 1800, the opera associates an attempt to save his Toscan lover from a sadistic police chief. Eggplant layered with cheese and tomato sauce. I have a great recipe for eggplant palm. This is not to fry eggplant slices, rather than fried as many recipes do. Recipes are a lot of work, but they are absolutely delicious, so I usually get eggplants in a share of my local CSA (community-supported agriculture) and make it once a year when I stock my freezer. Masu. It is always a sad day when the last eggplant parm was eaten and I have to wait until it is season again. No (49a: The First James Bond Film) Dr. No was released in 1962, starring Sean Connally as James Bond. Dr. Julius Noh (did you know his name?) was portrayed by Joseph Weissman. I’m 13 years old, so it’s been a while since my cat Willow was cut off like a kitten. It is interesting that cats have different versions of measurements to mean different things. Willow has a special yawing that is somewhat yawed, which is used to mean “I brought you a present.” Luckily, she is an indoor cat, these presents are not creatures, but stray socks, tenugui, or crochet animals she found somewhere for my husband and me and left . But I don’t have a picture of her carrying these things. (I would like to set up Kittycom to catch her in this act, but I haven’t done it yet.)

Erika (55a: “Get Out” Actress Alexander) Get Out is a 2017 horror film written and directed by Jordan Peel. It’s about black people trapped in a trance-like state (“sunned place”) when their bodies are taken over by a white host. Erika Alexander depicts detective Latoya in the film. Emperor Penguins (59a: Antarctic birds where men raise eggs) Emperor Penguins are the largest species endemic to Antarctic. Adults are just under 4 feet tall and weigh between 50 and 100 pounds. Much of my knowledge about Emperor Penguin comes from the 2005 documentary March of the Penguin. It’s a beautiful movie. If you’ve never seen it, I recommend it. The male emperor penguins incube the eggs, but the woman returns to the sea and finds food for herself and the penguin chick. This word appeared in yesterday’s puzzle.cgi (33d:fx:fx is used to make na’vi in ”avatars”). CGI, short for computer-generated images, was used to create na’vi.lea (38d: the name found in “Central America”). Have the puzzles looked more horny than usual lately? This is the third time I’ve seen the word ears in the last four days. It is being tightened as (corn serving), (corn serving), and now (corn unit). With all these corn ears, you’ll think we were in Iowa! (Well, some of us…) Trio (56d: Alvin and Shipmank, e.g.) Alvin, Simon, Theodore, Alvin and Chipmunks.ode (60d: “Anime, songs, personification, personification, personification, known as “60d: ” A trio of creatures that have been transformed into. ___ to the Aging Body (Jan Mandel’s Poetry)) You can read Jan Mandel’s poem “Aud to Aging Body” on the website of the American Academy of Poets. You can read it. One of my favorite parts of the poem is “pain and noise in the aging body / is like a constant companion, / Very extroverted friend / simply not to be silent, / Still there through everything “I’m here.” (61D: “Love Jones” actress Long) Love Jones is a 1997 romantic comedy drama film starring Nia Long and Larenz Tate. If you’ve never seen a movie and want to know more about it, you might check out “Five Reasons to Love Jones”! Wisdom and healing. He is married to Goddess Furiga. One of their sons is Thor, the god of lightning, thunder and storms. A few other clues I particularly enjoyed: beautiful (25a: “___please? Did you get here so early?”)
