What I learned from today’s puzzles
ACE (13A: Best Cards in Teen Patti) Teen Patti is a gambling card game born in India. It is played on a standard 52 card deck without the Joker. Teenage Patty’s hands consist of three cards, with the best hands being three aces. Teen Patty is new to me, but the answer here is pretty speculative. As ACE is the best card in many games, Levi (20a: Composer/Lyricist Celerio) Levi Celero (1910-2002) has achieved over 4,000 successful songs in his lifetime. He was recognized as a national artist in the Philippines in 1997. The Philippine Academy of Film Awards recognized Leviselero with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 1989 for the song he composed for the film. Fun fact: Levi Celerio was also known for using leaves as musical instruments. The Guinness Book of World Records recognized him as “the only leaf player in the world.” Laos (32A: Kaipen cuisine) Kaipen is a Laotian cuisine snack made with green algae, garlic, vegetables and sesame seeds. The paper-like thin snacks include crispy.amor (41d: “___ Eterno” (Juan Gabriel Song)) Juan Gabriel (1950-2016) being one of the most prolific Mexican singers and songwriters of all time. It’s the best cellar and fried until it’s the best cellar. An artist from Mexican history. His gorgeous style earned him the nickname “El Divo de Juarez.” “Amor Eterno” (“Eternal Love”) was one of Juan Gabriel’s signature songs.
Random thoughts and interesting things

Game theory has applications in social science, logic, systems science, economics and computer science. Britpop (33A: OASIS genre) In the early 1990s in the UK, a musical genre known as Britpop emerged (other locations?). It contrasts with the popular grunge music of the time, and features a bright and catchy theme. Founded in Manchester in 1991, Band Oasis is considered one of the most successful Britpop groups of all time. Name of the meeting room in the new building. Eagle (1d: “crowned” prey bird) Crown crowned eagle is an eagle species that lives in sub-Saharan Africa. Citations around the words crowned in the clue indicate that the words paired with the answer and form the name of the bird of feeding. Clues.slimed (8d: Covered with green goop in the Children’s Choice Awards) “You’re slim!” Slime has been an integral part of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Show since 2002. Nickelodeon’s iconic green slime first appeared in a Canadian sketch comedy show in 1979. If you want to know more, take a minute and a half to read “The Short History of Nickelodeon Slime.” It’s one of my favorite exclamation points. Nato (18D: ___ Phonetic Alphabet) NATO voice alphabet is a widely used radio telephone spell alphabet. It’s been several months since I had the opportunity to review the NATO audio alphabet. I want to do it every time it’s mentioned in a puzzle. Today, we are going to write and review the last name using the prefix of NATO Phonetic: Hotel -Oscar -Echo -Lima -Sierra -Charlie -Hotel -Echo -Romeo.Geo (24d: “Cache” or “buessr”) I did. Containers of items (usually logbooks, pencils, and various small, inexpensive objects) are hidden in specific locations for searchers to find using GPS coordinates. Geocaching is a great fun and a great way to explore the area. Geoguessr is a web-based game in which players guess their location based on Google Street View images. G&T: In each theme’s answer, the first word starts with G and the second word begins with T. G&T phrases are gravy train, game theory, gatherings, right time.
This is a fun earlyism theme. G&T often represents classic cocktails, gin and tonics. I enjoy these types of themes. It’s interesting to discover what else these initials mean. The timing look that is suitable for the grid as the answer to the theme makes me realize that this is a phrase I use quite regularly. Stella, thank you for this amazing puzzle.
