Openai’s new image generation feature is set to become one of the most popular product launches to date.
More than 130 million users have generated over 700 million images from the new image generator launched last week on CHATGPT, according to Brad LightCap, which oversees day-to-day operations and global expansion at OpenAI.
“(w) I would like to thank you for your patience as we try to serve everyone,” Lightcap wrote in X’s post Thursday. “() The team is spinning the clock.”
LightCap added that India is currently the fastest growing ChatGpt market.
Launched for all CHATGPT users earlier this week, OpenAI’s new image generator went viral with its controversial ability to create realistic Ghibli-style photos. It was a complicated blessing for Openai, and it has really strained the company’s capabilities, leading to millions of new sign-ups for ChatGpt.
According to CEO Sam Altman, Image Generator’s popularity has led to product delays, offering a temporarily degraded service as Openai works to expand its infrastructure to meet demand.
