Openai’s ChatGPT adds new features to business users, including integration with various cloud services, recording conferencing, and MCP connection support for connection to tools for deep research.
As part of the launch, ChatGpt has acquired connectors for Dropbox, Box, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Google Drive. This allows ChatGpt to search for information and answer questions across its own services. For example, an analyst can use a company’s slide deck and documentation to build an investment paper.
Openai said the new feature follows the organization’s access control hierarchy.
Now, meeting recording and transcription, a table stakes feature in the productivity suite, is also available. This feature allows you to generate notes with timestamp quotes and suggest actions. Users can use documents and files across the Integration Service to query meeting note information. Additionally, users can convert action items into canvas documents. This is an OpenAI tool for creating and coding projects.
This feature competes with Clickup, Zoom, and more recently with the concept of adding some type of transcription and summary functionality to the product.
Additionally, the company is introducing deep search connectors for Hubspot, Linear, and Select Microsoft and Google tools in beta. Openai said users can now use knowledge and data from these sources along with web information to prepare in-depth research reports through in-depth research. Openai said the connector is available to all paid users.
Customers can also use MCP (Model Context Protocol) to connect to other tools for deep research. MCP support is available to Pro, teams and enterprise users, the company said.
The addition of these features indicates that Openai wants businesses to use ChatGpt. The company could be successful here. Startups such as concepts and Lux’s capital support context are looking to build office tools with AI to provide research and analysis capabilities, but OpenAI has the advantage of first-movers.
Three million customers have already subscribed to the enterprise-centric product from 2 million reported by Openai COO Brad Lightcap in February.
