At WWDC 2025, Apple released a new version of Xcode, an app development suite that integrates Openai’s ChatGPT such as coding, Doc Generation, and more. The company also announced that developers can use API keys to bring AI models from other providers to programming proposals with AI in Xcode.
“Developers can connect (AI) models directly to the coding experience to create code, tests, and documents. Iterate through design. Fix errors.”

New AI integration in Xcode allows developers to use the tools to generate previews of their code and handle other tasks. Developers can tap Xcode’s ChatGPT without creating an account. Paid ChatGpt users can connect their accounts to increase their rate limits.
In other AI-related news today, Apple launched the Foundation Models Framework to enable developers to leverage AI models from companies running on-device. The company said developers will need to write three lines of code to access these models. He added that local models can be run on Apple silicon-powered devices.
It was rumored that Apple would release vibe coding software in partnership with humanity. However, ChatGpt was Apple’s last choice.
In particular, last year, Apple demoed Xcode’s coding assistant, Swift Assist, but it wasn’t widely released.
