At the WWDC 2025 event, Apple revealed that it will bring Visual Intelligence, an AI-powered image analysis technology, to the iOS 26 iPhone screen.
According to Apple, Visual Intelligence automatically works with any app by making it easier and faster to use iPhone content. For example, if you open a social media app and see the grey jacket, you can use visual intelligence that can be accessed by pressing the same button that you use to take a screenshot.
iPhone screen visual intelligence offers other shortcut options, such as quickly adding events to the calendar based on context. You can extract dates, times and locations and pre-fill them with calendar entries. There is also the option to upload screenshots to ChatGPT for analysis and additional information.
Craig Federighi, Apple’s Head of Software Engineering, said developers can integrate Apple Intelligence into their apps.
“For developers, you can use the intent of the app to integrate search capabilities from your app into this experience,” Federighi said on WWDC’s stage. “We use our iPhone cameras to use visual intelligence to enable us to search visually across our most commonly used apps.”
