Lori announced the latest educational products at Anaheim’s NAAM audio show on Thursday. Simply named Loripiano is based on products such as Lori’s aerial wave and piano M, doubling the latter key count to 49.
The piano is very similar to the predecessor in most cases, and the MIDI key is synchronized with the educational app played on a mobile phone or tablet. On the other hand, radio waves add hand tracking to the mix and create a gesture -based sound.
The new instrument is expensive, $ 599, far exceeding the current $ 249 price range of piano M. The London -based Music Tech startup offers a limited time of “Super Early Bird Special” for $ 399.
And, of course, it is not the release of 2025 products without mentioning the generated AI. It arrives from the newly announced Piano AI Assistant. The company is said to be “the first step to use the generated AI to achieve easier, intuitive and fun play than ever.”
The assistant, which is being developed as part of the launch of the piano, is aiming for further guidance while adding music theory to the mix.
For the past year, the piano line has become the main focus of Lori. Pivot to educational products makes sense for the company that filed for bankruptcy in 2021. Products such as seaboards and blocks were always cool and clever, but in the music world remained a niche.
Music education, on the other hand, provides a bigger market potential to smaller hardware manufacturers.
