Tinder CEO Faye Iosotaluno will step down from her role in July, according to a post published on LinkedIn.
iosotaluno worked in the role less than a year later, spending almost eight years overall at a company owned by Match Group. In her post, she said, “I’m proud to build and work with an exceptional team.” She said the next thing for her is “deeply personal.”
“The technological landscape of consumers is evolving in exciting and unpredictable ways, and so is my own ambition,” she writes. “I am drawn to recreating that progress by supporting and building with the next generation of female leaders, founders and investors, based on the progress and lessons learned on Tinder, where the diverse voices around the table make better and more impactful decisions.”
Meanwhile, in another post, Match Group CEO Spencer Laskoff said he would step in to lead the Tinder team.
“We are grateful that we spent the last few months together to prepare for this news and ensure a smooth transition,” he writes. “When I intervene to lead the team, I am energized by the momentum you are excited to help create and continue building with exceptional leaders.”
Match Group is trying to find ways to drive Tinder’s growth, Bloomberg reports. Earlier this month, Match Group announced a 13% reduction in staff to reduce costs and streamline decision-making. According to Bloomberg, the chunks of those cuts were reported on Tinder.
