Spotify is launching a new hub dedicated to keeping users informed about upcoming albums, the company announced Wednesday. The hub, known as “future releases,” will feature personalized recommendations based on the user’s listening history.
Users can access it via the Mobile Search tab in the Browse All section. The hub also features the top 10 global countdowns, the most anticipated release based on the number of presaves.
The hub allows users to pre-save future releases and view the countdown page. This will show you a track list for future albums and released singles. These pages also include artist products and clips. If users pre-save a future release, they will receive a push notification from Spotify on the day of release. Additionally, Spotify automatically adds music to your library.
New Hub enhances music discovery on the platform by providing future album recommendations that are consistent with user interests. It also makes it easier for listeners to understand future releases and looks forward to future releases. For artists, the new hub can allow for further exposure in future releases. The hub also has the potential to enhance the discovery of countdown pages and therefore enhance product and tour information.
Spotify has also announced that it is rolling out countdown charts for Artists social channels Spotify and Spotify on platforms such as Instagram, Tiktok and X. These charts present Spotify’s top 10 countdowns in the global most total preseave. The charts will be updated every Wednesday, the company said.
This announcement comes as Spotify has been updating its app with additional features over the past few weeks. Earlier this month, the music streaming service redesigned the app to give users more control over their listening experience and recommendations. The redesign includes new features that allow users to manage queues, current listening experiences, playlist creation, and more.
Additionally, thanks to a US judge ordering Apple to stop claiming purchases via the iPhone app, Spotify this month rolled out the ability for users to purchase individual audiobooks directly within the app, as well as the option to access pricing information and external payment links.
