About Jared Kaplan Session
Kaplan takes a TC session. Behind the scenes attendees of the AI hybrid inference model – this balances quick responses to simple queries with deeper handling of complex problems and shares insights into human risk governance frameworks to mitigate potential AI risks. (Kaplan was appointed responsible scaling officer for humanity in October.)

Learn about Kaplan
Jared Kaplan has a resume that is quite noteworthy. Before co-founding humanity, he spent 15 years as a theoretical physicist at Johns Hopkins University, exploring quantum gravity, field theory and cosmology. Since then, his research on scaling methods has been believed to have revolutionized how the AI industry understands and predicts the behavior of advanced systems. In fact, before humanity, Kaplan played a role in the development of GPT-3 and Codex in Openai. Meanwhile, in humanity, Kaplan helped develop Claude, the family of the company’s AI assistants.
It was a wild ride for Kaplan and the company. The notable growth of humanity was driven by several major developments, including the launch of the Claude 3.7 Sonnet in late February, including the launch of the Claude 3.7 Sonnet, and the first hybrid inference model that can handle both the “most intelligent model to date” and the appropriate processing time for each.
The company recently introduced autonomous research capabilities and integration of Google Workspaces, transforming Claude into what it characterized as a “true virtual collaborator” for enterprise users.
(Humanity is reportedly developing voice assistant features to help Claude compete with similar products from other AI companies.)
Of course, investors are aware. In March, Anthropic announced it had completed a new funding agreement valued at around $16 billion to around $61.5 billion.
