Amazon said Thursday it is releasing a new generation AI-powered tool that will help merchants improve their lists with missing details and attributes.
Sellers often list hundreds of products on Amazon and need to update information related to them from time to time. The ecommerce titan hopes sellers will use new AI-powered tools to enhance my list to make chores easier.
This tool automatically suggests the seller the product title, attributes, descriptions and missing details based on seasonal trends. Sellers may accept, reject or modify these suggestions before updating the product list in Amazon’s catalog.
Amazon said it uses its own Amazon Bedrock service in its generation AI model to gain insights from customer engagement on its platform. My listing enhancements are scheduled for expanded rollouts over the coming weeks, and are being rolled out today to select sellers for the US selection.
Starting in 2023, the company has introduced a generator AI tool for sellers with features that will help you write product descriptions. In March 2024, Amazon added a tool that allows sellers to create lists by inserting product URLs from their websites. This feature allows sellers to upload a single image or even write several words to generate a list.
Amazon said over 900,000 sellers have used the generator AI tool so far. The company added that in more than 90% of the time, merchants will accept content generated by AI without editing.
To be clear, it does not necessarily approve the accuracy of the tool. It is possible that some sellers do not review the output in detail.

Amazon is not the only company trying to inject generative AI into marketing. Google, eBay, Meta and Shopify have released several tools in this category. Startups like Avataar and Superscale are also working to help sellers create marketing assets through AI-powered applications.
