McLaren driver Oscar Piastri won the fourth race in 2025, beating his teammate Landnoris in the action-packed Miami Grand Prix.
Oscar Piastri won with his victory at the Miami Grand Prix as McLaren continued his dominant Formula One season with a 1-2 enjoyment at the Paudium.
The Australian driver finished 4.6 seconds ahead of his British teammate Rand Norris, while Mercedes’ George Russell finished 37.6 seconds behind.
Sunday’s victory was third for Piastri after winning Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, and was fourth in his six races this season.
Four-time world champion Max Verstappen, who started with Paul, finished 6th and 4th with Williams’ Alex Albon and Mercedes’ 18-year-old Kimi Antoneri.
“I knew it was enough to avoid Max in turn, and then I knew there was a good pace advantage,” Piastri said. “The car today was incredible.
“I was struggling a bit, so there are a few things to tackle, and I have to continue learning, but I am very happy to have Miami on top.
“Here we were the slowest team two years ago. I think we lap twice. Here we won the race in 35 seconds,” he added.

Piastri, who started fourth on the grid, grabbed the lead on lap 14 when Verstappen took the inner line, but it was too slow on the brakes and got bigger.
“The guy on the brakes, honestly, it’s useless,” Dutchman said his team radio and two-time Miami winner Red Bull driver never sniffed the lead again.
Norris hunted for Verstappen, but after some idiotic people on lap 17, Piastri opened a nine-second lead before he moved forward.
“It’s not the best feeling at all, but the team did a great job and I can’t blame them at all,” Norris said.
“It feels good because we were on the road. Oscar drove well and Max had a good fight as usual.
Russell was finishing behind his teammate Antonelli in qualifying, but after his frustration in the sprint race, he was pleased to have been on the podium.
“I’ve had a personal struggle this weekend so I’m really happy to get a P3. Well done to McLaren, they were way too far,” he said.
It was another unfortunate day for Ferrari. Charles Leclerc was seventh and Lewis Hamilton was behind.
Hamilton expressed frustration several times during the race with the Italian team in his first season.
Williams driver Carlos Sein faced steward’s investigation after an aggressive attempt to overtake Hamilton in the final corner led to a wheel crash.
