Google’s AdSense Advertising Network began supporting ads in chats with third-party AI chatbots earlier this year, Bloomberg reported.
The company uses AI Search Startups IASK and LINER to deploy its functionality after testing, citing anonymous sources who are familiar with the issue.
“AdSense for Search is available on websites that want to display ads related to the AI conversation experience,” Bloomberg said, a Google spokesman.
Search and advertising giants are trying to leverage and offset the growing trends of users using Openai’s ChatGPT, Claude of Humanity, web search and AI chatbots to answer popular queries.
Google has invested heavily in AI tools and products with large language models slate and frequent updates to Gemini AI apps and models. At the end of last year, the company began displaying ads in AI overviews. This is an AI-generated summary provided for a particular search query.
