A startup called SuperPower is publishing what is known as the world’s first super app, designed to help people better understand and take care of their health.
For $499, the startup offers a two-year lab test that analyzes over 100 blood biomarkers in 21 categories, giving it a more comprehensive view of health than standard physics. Members conduct these tests twice a year, either at home or at SuperPower’s 2,000 partner labs nationwide.
The SuperPower web app takes into account the results of these tests, including past medical records, fitness trackers, and genetics, and uses AI to create a personalized overview of health and outlines possible concerns. The app then provides you with an action plan to control your health.
The startup was founded in 2023 by Jacob Peters, Max Martione and Kevin Unclich. The trio founded SuperPower following a personal struggle with the healthcare system. Peters nearly lost his life after spending $2 million on medical expenses, battling several serious conditions that have not been diagnosed by multiple experts. Marcion faced decades of misdiagnosis from more than 20 doctors, and Unkrich lost his best friend to a teenager’s brain tumor.
They recognized that these were not isolated cases as 40% of Americans suffer from conditions that could have been previously identified and addressed with appropriate information.

“There’s this huge gap between the best healthcare and what most people can access,” Marcion told TechCrunch in an interview. “And we have been trusting for the past decade that as long as that gap exists, someone or some companies have to fill that gap, and six years ago, we didn’t think it was possible.
SuperPower’s semi-annual lab tests help you better understand various aspects of your health, including nutrient and mineral levels, and hormonal balance. The company notes that these are factors that play a key role in energy, birth rates and overall well-being. The test also evaluates metabolic health associated with the risk of cardiovascular disease, certain cancers, neurodegenerative conditions, and other chronic diseases.
Members can also undergo additional specialized tests, including intestinal microbiome analysis and screening for granular cancers that can detect more than 50 types of cancer before symptoms appear at an additional cost.
The app’s superpower score and biological age track your overall health and identify specific areas where you can improve. Once members receive personalized health outcomes, they are connected to an integrated market for healthcare service providers. SuperPower also offers access to the 24/7 AI and Human Hybrid Concierge Care teams where members can seek personalized guidance.
“This really marks the beginning of the journey,” Peters said. “From there, SuperPower will become the new front door of the healthcare system, where instead of dealing with the fragmented world of healthcare that exists today, we can bring everything under one roof and people can have their first lifelong medical partner.”

While SuperPower is not trying to trade real doctor visits, startups hope that SuperPower is the place where people go when they are looking for answers to questions related to their health.
“The reality is that there are 1 billion health-related Google searches every day,” Marchione said. “Many people go to ChatGupt before going to care. And the reality is that Google and ChatGpt aren’t that good at caring for you. The question is, when someone goes to Google or ChatGpt, how do they have all their data? We know everything about medicine. Exchange.”
Alongside the public launch, the company has announced a $30 million Series A funding round led by Forerunner, and has announced participation from well-known celebrities such as Vanessa Hudgens, Steve Aoki and NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo. Other investors include first-day ventures, Susa Ventures, Long Journey Ventures, Family Funds, Opal Ventures, Barrier Ventures, Visible Ventures and Wincrevos Capital.
SuperPower has 150,000 people on its waitlist. With this public launch, startups are opening their apps to as many people as possible, adjusting demand.
The SuperPower platform is currently accessible through web apps, but the company plans to launch iOS and Android apps in the future.
