Norway-based Browser Company Opera said today that it is making AI assistant ARIA available to Ansroid Opera Mini users. This move will help users with low-end devices and data constraints to access better AI capabilities.
Aria AI helps users get the latest news and information on a variety of topics, learn more about different topics, and generate images. Opera uses a combination of Openai and Google models to get related answers.
“AI is rapidly becoming an integral part of the daily internet experience. Introducing Aria to Opera Mini will naturally add to the most downloaded browsers. We are excited to add AI, ARIA, to the addition of built-in AI, ARIA, to the way AI will further strengthen the way users rely on each day.”
Launched in 2005, Opera Mini helps users store data while browsing. The company’s claim is that even if a new AI assistant launches, it will help save data without adding app size.
For many years, the company has attacked partnerships with local African carriers, providing free data to Opera Mini customers. Last year, the company had to close its free data program in Kenya after authorities issued command ads to throttle advertisements on the browser’s bookmark tile interface.
The company said Opera Mini has over 1 billion downloads from Android and has over 100 million users worldwide. App Analytics Firm According to data from App Figures, Opera Mini has recorded 7.1 million downloads worldwide this year.
Apart from launching the AI assistant on every page, Opera experiments with AI features, including how to control tabs via natural language prompts and operators that help you complete tasks autonomously.
