Google Classroom has introduced new AI-powered features designed to allow teachers to generate questions. The tool, launched on Monday, allows educators to create a list of questions based on specific text input.
Using this text-dependent question generation tool using Gemini, teachers can either upload files from Google Drive or manually enter AI text to generate questions. You can then export the question to Google Doc or Google Forms.
Educators can choose from a variety of filters, including grade level, number of questions, and type of questions (such as multiple choices or free ends). Additionally, there is the option of specifying students the skills they wish to demonstrate, such as their teachers to use a comparative language and the ability to assess discussion.

This feature is only available to Google Workspace for educational subscribers who have either the Gemini Education add-on ($24 per user) or Gemini Education Premium ($36 per user).
Google initially launched Gemini in its classrooms in 2024, but has since expanded its functionality. Recent updates included tools for creating vocabulary lists. It also allows you to generate lesson plan ideas and summarise a variety of materials, from class notes to student feedback.
