Waymo Robotaxi caused traffic jams at Chickfil A in Santa Monica, California after being stuck in a drive-thru lane at a fast food restaurant. Waymo emailed TechCrunch about the incident first reported by local broadcasting station KTLA 5.
Waymo told TechCrunch that Robotaxi had no passengers. Waymo Robotaxi dropped passengers in the Chick-Fil-A parking lot. However, the company said that the drive-thru lane and several other cars were close by, preventing Robotaxi from completing the multi-point turn.
In this case, there were no injuries. It’s inconvenient for those waiting to order food.
There was a regular issue that it was often highlighted in videos shared on social media, but Waymo Robotaxis has been blocking traffic and causing interference. For the past year, Waymo has been stuck in a roundabout loop, with another person stuck in front of former Vice President Kamala Harris’ motorcade in San Francisco. And in the early hours, a parking lot filled with Waymoss rang out for up to an hour.
Waymo operates commercial robotico services in San Francisco, Phoenix and Los Angeles. The company also offers Robotaxi services to Austin through its partnership with Uber.
