There is a lot of scrutiny, including China getting sophisticated Nvidia chips despite strict export controls in the US, where Chinese merchants are reportedly already ordering Nvidia’s powerful Blackwell GPUs.
On Thursday, Singapore police arrested three men allegedly smuggling Nvidia chips, Channel News Asia reported. A man, two Singaporeans and one Chinese have been charged with fraud against the supply of servers.
Singapore includes Nvidia chips restricted to servers created by Dell and Supermicro, and is investigating whether it was repurposed anywhere other than its official destination in Malaysia, Bloomberg reported.
Nvidia’s latest annual report shows that it is selling to Singapore. The country accounted for 18% of its revenue in 2025, but actual shipments to Singapore accounted for less than 2% of its revenue.
Dell told TechCrunch that it has a strict trade compliance program and is investigating customers who don’t follow it. Nvidia declined to comment, but Supermicro did not immediately respond to the request for comment.
