In just three weeks, the biggest celebration of the filmmaking achievements will be Oscars. Since the ceremony was established in 1929, one filmmaker has stood above the others, bringing home the most golden statue.
The late Walt Disney has won the most Oscar victory in the 22 and has won four Honorary Awards.
It was actually Disney that created the Academy Awards nickname “Oscar.” According to the Walt Disney Family Museum, Disney accepted the short comic The Little Pigs in 1934, “The Little Pigs,” called “Three Little Pigs.” Up until this point, the term “Oscar” was used as the internal industry name for the award, and it was the first time the public had heard of Disney’s statement.
