Kevin Durant, one of the best players and goal scorers in Phoenix Suns forward basketball history, became the eighth NBA player to reach 30,000 career points and scored a mark against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday .
Durant reached 30,000 in 26th place on Tuesday. He finished with 34 and currently has 30,008 career points. He follows Wilt Chamberlain (31,419) and Dirk Nowitzki (31,560) in 7th and 6th place respectively on the NBA’s highest scorer list.
If Durant recovers from the Achilles destruction for the 2019-20 season, and is not limited to 35 games in 2020-21 and 47 games in 2022-23, he is already at the top of the list with a chance to become the top three. It will be the scorer behind LeBron James and Kareem Abdul Jabber.
Durant currently scores 30,000 to 30,000 points with Abdul-Jabbar, achieving feats in 1,101 games.
Even if they missed out on these games, Durant still has the opportunity to finish on top of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
At 6 feet 11 with an epic jump shot and a shooter touch, Durant was able to score from anywhere, including inside, mid-range and three-point distances. In his career, he shoots 50.1% off the field, 38.7% in 3 seconds and 88.2% on free throws.
Durant is a four-time scoring champion with a career average of 27.2 points. He won the 2013-14 MVP and was the two final MVP in Golden State in 2017 and 2018. He has won the All-NBA team 11 times and is the seventh player this season to win at least 15 All-Star selections.
Of the players who have played at least 800 games, Durant has the fourth-highest scoring average after Jordan, Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor.
